Effective date: [April 15, 2026]
ElementShot is a browser extension that allows you to select an element on a web page and create a screenshot of the visible page or the selected element. This Privacy Policy explains what information ElementShot handles, how it is used, and whether it is shared.
- Information ElementShot handles
ElementShot handles webpage content visible in the active tab only when you intentionally activate the picker and capture a screenshot. It also handles screenshot image data generated from the visible tab and your extension preferences, such as border color, border width, border style, padding, and capture mode.
- How ElementShot uses information
ElementShot uses this information only to provide its core functionality. This includes letting you select an element on the current page, generating a screenshot locally in your browser, applying your chosen capture settings, and remembering your saved preferences across sessions.
- Local processing and storage
Screenshot processing happens locally in your browser. ElementShot stores your selected preferences using the browser’s sync storage so your settings can persist across sessions and, where supported by your browser account, across devices.
- What ElementShot does not do
ElementShot does not send screenshots, selected element data, page content, browsing history, URLs, or your saved settings to the developer’s servers. ElementShot does not sell or rent your data. ElementShot does not use captured content for advertising, profiling, or analytics.
- Third-party services
ElementShot’s popup and settings pages use Google Fonts. When those pages are opened, your browser may request font files from Google. ElementShot does not send screenshots or captured page content anywhere.
- Data sharing
Except for the technical font-loading requests described above, ElementShot does not share screenshots, page content, or saved settings with third parties.
- Data retention and control
Your saved settings remain in browser storage until you change them, clear synced browser data, or uninstall the extension. Screenshots created with ElementShot are downloaded to your device and are controlled by you.
- Security
ElementShot is designed to minimize data transmission by processing screenshots locally in the browser. Stored settings are handled through the browser’s storage systems.
- Children’s privacy
ElementShot is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
- Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the updated version will be posted at the same policy URL with a revised effective date.
